dry lips

Winter can take a serious toll on our skin, hair and even our lips.  Follow these easy tips to ensure year round kissable lips!

Exfoliate your lips.  Removing dead skin cells built up on your lips is very important.  Dry, chapped lips are very unappealing.  And to make matters worse, lipstick will not apply smoothly to dry lips leaving a coloured flaky appearance.

If you have sensitive skin to make your lips look flawless in the winter you can simply apply Vaseline to your lips and wipe away any dead skin using a damn wash cloth.

You could also make a homemade lip scrub using olive oil and brown sugar.

After exfoliating your lips make sure to apply a hydrating lip balm, not a gloss.  Lip gloss can be very drying for your lips, I know it drys mine out.  Try to find a lip balm that contains Vitamin E or cocoa butter.  I like Burt’s Bees Lip Balm, with Vitamin E & Peppermint.

It is also important to find a lip balm containing an SPF to protect against the sun’s harmful rays.

You should also make sure to drink plenty of water!
