The John Frieda Root Awakening Shampoo and Conditioner says that it refreshes and feeds from roots to ends while restoring deep moisture for silky, soft hair that’s noticeable and more resilient with every use. It contains natural Eucalyptus and peppermint oil that is suppose to stimulate and energize the scalp.
I originally purchased the John Frieda Root Awakening Shampoo and Conditioner because it was on sale for less than $5 and because I really like John Frieda’s products. I also enjoy products with eucalyptus and/or peppermint in them and love the sensation that they give on the scalp.
I’m updating this post right now as it was originally published in April of 2012. I’m happy to say that I still use this shampoo and conditioner regularly. It’s always a duo that I have in my shower. I typically have about 10-15 different hair products on the go in my shower, yes I know I’m crazy. I’d have more if I had more space, I have a ton under the vanity open that I’ll bring in randomly.
I love the smell of the John Frieda Root Awakening line, it smells refreshing and feels refreshing on my scalp. I do think that it feels invigorating as the bottle suggests, and my hair always feels really clean and light after using it. I almost feel like it helps remove buildup of other products that I use cause my hair always has more bounce to it after.
I will continue to purchase the Root Awakening line forever probably. I’ve actually been using it more than their Sheer Blonde line. I also use their Full Repair line, which after looking online just now I think they have discontinued it, so that makes me sad. 🙂 But I have seen a new line at the store, the Luxourious Volume line, so I will probably pick that up to try next.
Overall I would recommend the John Frieda Root Awakening Shampoo and Conditioner to you. It’s one of my favourite shampoo and conditioners and you should try it. If you couldn’t tell I really enjoy John Frieda products. 🙂

My sister in law works at a salon, so i’ve had quite a bit of professional style products, my favorite is Alterna enzymetherapy. They make products with hemp in it and I use the straightening balm which works really good and the spray shine works awesome too. They smell SO good too.
