The pigments in red wine can stain your lips, and once the pigments are dry they are very hard to remove. Maybe they should try making lip stains out of wine…

How to Remove Red Wine Stains from Lips

If you are out at dinner and find your lips turning red grab a packet of sugar from your table and use it to create a lip exfoliatior in the bathroom.

Pour the packet of sugar into your palm and add a few drops of water until it feels gritty.  Gently rub the sugar water mix against your lips to buff away the red residue. An alternative is to keep a sugar lip scrub in your purse.

You can also coat your lips and teeth with lip balm before drinking red wine to help prevent stains. I always apply lip balm to my lips before drinking red wine and find it helps.
